A Giving Heart

Christian giving comes more from the heart than it does from the pocketbook. Giving is more a spiritual decision than a financial decision. Through faith, we understand that God is the owner and giver of all good things. “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” (Psalm 24:1). He has blessed us with our physical lives here on earth and with our spiritual lives that go on forever with him. Through our giving, our actions express our gratitude by saying, “Thank you, thank you, dear God.” Our faithful giving honors and worships the Lord.

Prayer: Good and gracious heavenly Father, you are the creator and owner of all things. You give so generously to us. Your love for us compelled you to give us and all people the most indescribable gift, the gift of your Son. Grant us a thankful and generous heart so that our giving will show our gratitude for who you are and all that you’ve done for us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
